February 2008

2.02.08 -3.02.08 This weekend the racing was at Elveden and was week 11 and 12. The first day it was nice and cold and all the teams completed the actual race distances for a change!
On the second day Tuppy made his debut in the B class and had a super run. Results of all the classes can be found here.. http://www.huskyracing.org.uk • ELVEDEN •

January 2008

19.01.08 - 20.01.08 Kings 2 was another race in East Anglia and it was very warm so the mileage was shortened for all classes. Results can be found here too....... http://www.huskyracing.org.uk/results2007/kings2-07.htm

5.01.08 - 6.01.08 This race was held in Scotland and the results are here........ http://www.huskyracing.org.uk/results2007/kinshaldy07.htm

December 2007

16.12.07 Day two we decided to put Jet and Tuppy in lead of the four dog team

With Tiger ( not visible in the picture below ) going in on wheel next to Dusty on our winning B Class team.

Brian Collins ran a combined Bifrost/ Zima Veteran team

Simon then ran our other Veteran team of three with Scottie and Tarcoon in lead.

Once again thank you to the organisers and to Chris Wellstead for taking the pictures http://www.photoboxgallery.com/huskypics

15.12.07 BSHRA Kings Forest was the fifth race on the calendar. The B Class distance was around 5 miles and this course is nearly always slower in mph than other courses. Temperatures were generally good and stayed below 3 degrees all day which is lovely for all the teams. Results can be found here http://www.huskyracing.org.uk/

2.12.07 The weather changed for the second days racing and it was wet making it a bit slippery! Hope this isn't going to be the trend of the season for the second day!
Both teams kept their placings and this time our young leader Granite took the team around the pond instead of in it! Full results can be found here http://huskyracing.org.uk/

Many thanks to Steve Rooke for organising this race.

1.12.07 BSHRA Rendlesham was the next race with quite a demanding trail on sand, mud and grass. Temperature was around 6 degrees and dry. Granite and Willow lead the team again in the 6 dog class to a second place finish. There was a lovely pond to go around so the team decided to go in it which seemed to be a favorite for many teams! Tuppy and Chena took our 'C' class team around the same trail of 3.7 miles and came 4th. Picture here courtesy Chris Wellstead.

November 2007

18.11.07 On the second day the trail was very ‘slippery’ following heavy rain. Granite made her debut in lead in the 6-dog team, and despite Simon taking a heavy fall from his rig, his fault not the dogs (!), the team managed to finish a creditable second!
Thank you Nicky and Alistair Spowart for a great race weekend for the start of the season!

17.11.07 The BSHRA Broxa race in N Yorkshire was therefore our first race and we were very pleased with our youngsters who did extremely well. The weather was kind to us too! Jet, our Sunny and BJ son, ran in the 6-dog class finishing first on the Saturday. Granite and Tuppy, Willow’s yearlings, ran extremely well in the 4-dog class and came fourth. We are so pleased with their performance.

Our first race of the 2007 season was originally planned to be a SSHC event at Culbin, Scotland but we withdrew due to the planned length of trails at this the start of the racing season.

3.11.07 Sassicaia Celtic Swing was third in Open Dog at the Working and Pastoral Breeds Assoc of Scotland.

September 2007

15.9.07 Zima dogs at Darlington Championship Show had a lovely day under Mary Davidson who was giving CC's for the first time.
Junior dog :- Well done Mac ( Zima Cruiser at Ceannabeinne ) for coming first and coatless Jet (Zima Skagway) was third in a strong class of 10 juniors.
Open dog :- Fure ( Zima Fure of Lara-Ke ) was second, and came back for the challenge, in another large class of 14 dogs.
Chena ( Ch Zima Chena of Lara-Ke ) won Open bitch and then went on to take the RBCC. We were also delighted with Zima Gray Mouse taking a third place and therefore attaining her stud book number, in a class of 11 dogs.
Junior bitch :- In this class of 14 were all of the litter sisters from our 2006 Fure/ Willow breeding, Simon's lead dogs for the last 3 years at the races. Our Granite ( Zima Granite ) was first, second was Nakki ( Zima Matsu At Ceannabeinne ) and Raven ( Zima Chilkat of Charoite ) was third. Pixie (Zima Squirrel) who was expertly handled by Julie Foard/Collins was unlucky to just miss out. Well done to everyone.

August 2007

26.8.07 Simon was invited to Judge Bitches at the Scottish Siberian Husky Club Championship Show. His Best Bitch, Best Veteran and Reserve Best in show went to Lara-ke's Teklanika at Bifrost (Imp)

14.8.07 It was nice to visit Karsten and Eveline and be able to see the start of their Summer training. Our exercise was helping Karsten chop wood for the winter and play with puppies on the lawn. We had a great time.

Many thanks to Steve Rooke for designing our original web site in 2001. At last we have managed to redesign and up date it with some additional pages and thank Natalya Ozerova for her incredible support.
